Currently the Authority is in the Eastern Region of Ghana on their last phase of registering qualified Ghanaians and issuing them with the National Identity Card(GhanaCard).
However the emergence of the pandemic COVID 19 which has hit around the globe of
which Ghana has their share of it , the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has addresses the necessary measures base of WHO’s strategy to reduce spreading of the virus . Despite the ban on public gathering not exceeding 25 people in attendance, the Executive Secretary (ES) Prof . Ken Attafuah has issued directive to his employees who are currently on the field that work should continue and he promised the management of the authority will procure hand sanitizers and others necessary protective by the close of business day 16th March 2020 but as 10:30 17th of March 2020 none of the necessary protective are available to the staffs to use and no sign that they will even provide.
The leadership of the field workers wrote to calm the staffs down earlier as they patiently wait on the management.

In the wake(Spread) of the *COVID-19* outbreak in the country. Leadership wish to urge all field officials to please stick to the preventive measures issued by the *Health ministry* as we wait on management for an official release as soon as possible on the way forward.
Again I wish to inform all to refrain from been panic on field and assure you that, Leadership’s engagement with management on this pandemic disease hopes for an official release from management on a directive to field officials on the way forward of our work by the close of business tomorrow Monday March 16, 2020.
As paramount as our health is, May we all stay cool and adhere to ;
1. Frequent washing of our hands
2. Drinking of more water
3. Avoiding handshake 🤝
4. Gargle warm water with salt when you feel sore throat.
